Written by Arlie Hamer. Miriam took a trip by herself to experience Alaska. She began with an organized glacial cruise ship tour. Then she chartered a float plane to take her to Happy Harbor, a very small island near Ketchikan. There she stayed at one of the two cabins on the island with Arlie Hamer and her husband, whom she had corresponded with.
